Kokis is a Srilankan traditional dish. This is an important dish when celebrating Sinhala and Tamil new year and festivals. Kokis is a deep fried, crispy Sri Lankan food made from rice flour and coconut milk.
Will you need
- Rice flour 200 g
- Eggs 01
- Sugar 01 tbsp
- Coconut milk cup of 1 1/2
- Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
- Salt 1/4 tsp
- Coconut oil bottle 01
- Large bowl to mix the batter
- A medium size deep thachchi (frying pan)
- A kokis iron mold/rosette mold (image below)
- A wooden stick with a pointed end
- Platter with paper towels
Way of make
- Mix coconut milk, sugar, eggs and turmeric powder well and add rice flour to make a thick mixture.
- Keep the mixture for a while.
- Add oil into a vessel as cover kokis mold and heat.
- Fry the kokis in heated oil.
- Transfer to paper towels.
